Carolyn Cummings and Zim Nazka

We continue with a truly inspirational pairing; Zim Nazka and Carolyn Cummings, winners of the Collee Memorial Trophy for the highest point veteran horse or pony in all types of EGB rides and the Cumbria Za Trophy, awarded to the highest point senior rider in rides of 45km and under.
Carolyn has Zim Nazka on loan from Jackie Lloyd at Team Lloyd Endurance, and Nazka has some pretty famous offspring here in Lancashire that you will be hearing from very soon. They teamed up to take the Chanel Pairs Award, donated by Maureen Helme, awarded to the pair of competitive horses or ponies, gaining the highest combined number of points in any division of EGB competitive rides. One Horse/Pony is to have only completed rides of 45km and under and the other only rides of greater than 45 km are counted.
You can see the dynamic mother daughter duo in the pics below, as well as Carolyn and Naz in action and of course, Zim Nazka’s amazing collection of awards from the 2017 season at both EGB and SERC below, some inspiration and motivation for us all going into the 2018 season!
Jackie Lloyd, owner of Nazka sent us some words following Naz’s fantastic 2017 Veteran season where Carolyn rode her to a Cumulative Mileage Award of 5000kms, with Nazka covering 5035 so far, wonderful achievement for a horse coming back from top level race riding.

“Veteran Horse, Zim Nazka at the age of 18 Years competed again in 2017 after a couple of years in retirement – and showed us that she was far from ready to retire! She finished second Nationally in the Veteran class and won all the awards pictured Regionally at the annual Presentation Evening last week in Lancashire.
I would like to thank Carolyn for riding her so well, for taking such good care of her, and to Brian for crewing her impeccably all season.
Nazka really is a superstar and I am so very proud of all she has achieved throughout her endurance career, and all she has continued to achieve as a Veteran Horse.
She is fit and well … and demonstrating that she is ready for the forthcoming 2018 season already!”
