Kim Lord and La Mi Khayal

Kim Lord and La Mi Khayal, 2017 winners of the Winston Memorial Trophy and the Green Ribbon Shield
The Memorial Trophy, donated by Bob and Dot Chappell is awarded to the rider, new to Long Distance Riding in their first registered season, who has successfully completed the greatest number of kms in all classes of EGB competitive and non-competitive rides.
Pleased to say we again had a lot of new members this year and it’s great to reward their efforts with the rosettes and trophies.
Kim and La Mi Khayal also pipped other new rider/horse combinations to the post this year in The Green Ribbon Shield, awarded to the novice horse and novice rider gaining the highest number of points in both of their first seasons as novices, kindly donated by Sarah and Justin Bamber.
We asked Kim for a few words as a new member just getting started and having such great success.
“What an amazing year it has been for myself and La Mi Khayal (Florence). She came to me as a rescue, never would I have imagined we would achieve so much together, I am so proud of her. Thank you to everyone from Lancashire EGB for your help getting started, and thank you to all those who have made it possible by letting us ride with you. Some great new friends made this year, and we have both fallen in love with the sport. I can’t wait for the season to start, see you all out there!”
